Trina Turk – in support of Step Up Women’s Network
Hi everybody ! You already know how much Amy loves Step Up Women’s Network (www.suwn.com) – so she was happy to meet Trina Turk (www.trinaturk.com), the very vibrant and dedicated fashion designer who was giving her time this morning to talk to other Step Up members about her business experiences, and to support the organization by giving back via a percentage of the sales made. Thank you Trina !
A Sign – Follow Your Heart to Step Up
Some people say pay attention to the signs that pop up, unexpectedly, in your life. Reflecting on them &/or implementing them in your life will likely give you all the clarity you need to know you are right where you should be, doing just what you should be doing.
And so it was yesterday when one of the girls in Step Up Women’s Network Photojournalism for Girls program (Vanessa) pulled a candy heart from the Sweethearts bag of candies that I bought at the Rite Aid, and yelped “It says Step Up on it !”. All the girls gathered ’round.
I brought the candies so they could be used as props for the girls’ photo project that day … but little did I know that they could be so specifically inspiring ! Step Up is close to the girls hearts for many reasons, and I hope yesterday was yet another wonderful reminder of why. It certainly was for me. Step Up Women’s Network has been supporting the at-risk teen girl photo program I helped them craft for 5 years now, and I continue to be so grateful. Look out for the girls gallery show upcoming in April 2011 !
